One dead following Halloween gunfire in Bay Point
BAY POINT — A person died Tuesday night after gunfire rang out in a neighborhood, according to authorities.

Few details were available Wednesday afternoon, but the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the sheriff’s office was investigating the fatal shooting. Multiple messages left with the sheriff’s office were not returned.
Deputies responded to the Island View Court near Port Chicago Highway about 9 p.m. in the unincorporated city’s Shore Acres neighborhood.
Residents in the neighborhood early Wednesday said they heard gunfire and that it occurred while some kids still were out trick-or-treating.
