Big police response in Albany after shots fired in area near businesses

ALBANY — A shooting at a business Thursday prompted a huge police response and closed part of Interstate 80, authorities said.

It was not known immediately if anybody was shot or whether police fired their weapons.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of the Eastshore Hwy, near Buchanan Street, about 11:15 a.m., authorities said. A Toyota service repair shop and a Target store are in the area.

Police urged people to avoid the area.
