The suspect allegedly attacked the victim at the home on the 400 Block of Fourth Avenue, leaving the victim with minor injuries, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies later pulled over the vehicle for a traffic violation, leading to a foot chase before the man was quickly arrested.
The suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol and possessed illegal drugs, authorities said. He was booked into county jail on suspicion of five charges, including resisting arrest, drunken driving and attempted murder. He is being held without bail.
