Suspect makes criminal threats toward Saratoga church

Reckless evading: At 2:59 a.m., deputies responded to an automated license plate reader notification for a vehicle with a stolen license plate at Saratoga Avenue and Highway 85. An investigation revealed the plate was previously stolen from Santa Clara and was still outstanding. The vehicle was located a short time later, and deputies attempted to stop it, but the driver did not yield, recklessly evading, and the pursuit was ultimately terminated in the interest of public safety.

AUG. 29

Altering and brandishing an imitation firearm: At 5:32 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call regarding a road rage incident that just occurred on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road at Sea Gull Way. An investigation revealed the driver pointed an altered imitation firearm at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was located, cited and released.

AUG. 31

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information and attempted to obtain a credit account. No financial loss was reported.

SEPT. 2

Vandalism: Between noon on Sept. 1 and 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 2, someone broke the mailbox of a residence in the 15000 block of Sobey Road. No mail was reported stolen. The total amount of damage was approximately $100.

Vandalism: Between 3 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 2, someone broke the mailbox of a residence in the 4900 block of Sobey Road. No mail was reported stolen. The total amount of damage was approximately $155.

Attempted theft by false pretenses: A Saratoga resident reported that someone emailed them posing as their landlord and requested money. The victim did not send any money.

SEPT. 3

Vandalism :Between 10 p.m. on Sept. 2 and 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 3, someone defaced a residence in the 20000 block of Argonaut Drive with tape and toilet paper. The total amount of damage is unknown.

Criminal threats, trespassing, vandalism, possession of misappropriated property, controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia, resisting a peace officer: At 12:35 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at St. Michael’s Church on Allendale Avenue. An investigation revealed the suspect made criminal threats toward the church, was trespassing after previous admonishments, threw stones and bottles at the church and was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an ID card and a passport not belonging to the suspect, in violation of their probation terms. The suspect resisted but was ultimately arrested and booked into main jail.
