Richmond: I-580 crash leaves 2 dead, 1 seriously injured
A two-car crash on I-580 in Richmond early Sunday morning left the two drivers dead and one passenger seriously injured, authorities said.
The collision happened around 2 a.m. near Stenmark Drive just east of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

The drivers of the Nissan Centra and Toyota Camry were pronounced dead at the scene, and the Toyota’s passenger was taken to a local hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol. It was unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The westbound lanes of I-580 in the area were closed until about 4 a.m.
Authorities had not released the names of the victims as of Sunday afternoon.
